<p><strong>Srinagar:</strong> District Administration Kupwara with active participation of Education Department has put on every possible effort to start Community classes in the border district Kupwara.&nbsp;</p> <p>The Covid-19 and the resultant lockdown has affected every sphere of life, children and their education being hit the hardest.&nbsp;<br />&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp;<br />"To compensate the loss the Department of Education has taken many steps. Online and offline virtual classes are being delivered through different social media platforms", said the Chief Education Officer, &nbsp;Kupwara Abdul Hameed Fani, adding that &nbsp;the virtual teaching-learning is going on through Learning Management System (LMS), developed by the Directorate of School Education, Kashmir.</p> <p>He said, government has decided to initiate Community Classes for &nbsp;students reside in the areas which are not connected to mobile network, viz a viz for those &nbsp;who have network facility but &nbsp;do not have Android mobile phones.</p> <p>Administration &nbsp;has advised field functionaries, particularly, the Zonal Education Officers to monitor the teaching-learning process and ensure that COVID-19 SOPs are adhered to in letter and spirit. He has directed them to visit the areas in their jurisdiction frequently, particularly, the no-network areas and ensure that the process is carried out smoothly.</p> <p>These Community Classes will be conducted along with teaching through LMS.</p> <p>CEO said that in Kupwara district about 90000 students and 7000 teachers of about 1400 schools have been registered on LMS. About 8000 e-content (videos, audios, study material and assignments) are being uploaded by the teachers on the LMS on daily basis .</p>
