<p><strong>Kolkata:</strong> Owing to the rising cases of Coronavirus, West Bengal government on Thursday announced extension of lockdown in the state till June 15 in order to contain the infection. </p> <p>The announcement was made by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee as the ongoing lockdown in West Bengal was supposed to end of May 30.</p> <p><strong>ALSO READ | <span style="color: #e03e2d;"><a style="color: #e03e2d;" href="https://ift.tt/3yJqz28 'Concerned For Safety Of Staff In India', Seeks 3 Months Extension To Comply With New IT Rules</a></span></strong></p> <p>Under the ongoing lockdown-like restrictions imposed in Bengal, there is an indefinite prohibition functioning of shopping malls, markets, restaurants and bars, gyms, and swimming pools, which will continue till July 15.</p> <p>Meanwhile, extending the lockdown Banerjee has sought full cooperation from people of Bengal. "Please don't call this a lockdown. Covid numbers have come down.
