Rahul Gandhi Attacks PM Modi's Mann Ki Baat As Congress Releases 7-Point 'Chargesheet' Against BJP Govt

<p><strong>New Delhi: </strong>The Congress party on Sunday alleged that&nbsp; BJP government is harmful to the country as it has failed on every front and betrayed people's trust. The fresh salvo came in as PM Narendra Modi addressed the nation through his monthly programme 'Mann Ki Baat' on the occasion of&nbsp; NDA government's 7th anniversary.</p> <p>Congress released a seven-point "chargesheet" of "blunders" and "criminal wrongdoings" which the party has accused the government of committing, and alleged that the Modi dispensation abdicated its responsibilities towards people.</p> <p><strong>ALSO READ | <span style="color: #e03e2d;"><a style="color: #e03e2d;" href="https://ift.tt/3vBQUwX Win The Battle Against Covid, BJP Working Dedicatedly For 7 Years': PM Modi On Mann Ki Baat</a></span><br /><br /></strong>The Congress's list of what it termed as major failures includes a declining economy, rising unemployment and inflation, and COVID-19 mismanagement.</p> <p>Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi saidthat the government needs to have the right intention, policy, and determination to fight coronavirus pandemic - monthly talk won't suffice.</p> <p>"You need the right intention, policy and determination to fight Corona and not just a pointless talk once in a month," Gandhi wrote in a tweet in Hindi referring to PM Modi's "Mann Ki Baat" radio address.</p> <p>[tw]https://twitter.com/RahulGandhi/status/1398858173662994441[/tw]</p> <p>Adding to Congress's attacks, general secretary and chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala alleged that the last 7 years have been a story of unprecedented devastation, an abdication of responsibility, and abandonment of India's people by a government that was showered with all the love and affection by the nation.</p> <p>"This government is harmful for the country as it has betrayed the faith of people of India. It is betraying the trust and the innate faith the people reposed in prime minister Narendra Modi," he said.</p> <p>"This is a deception of the worst kind heaped upon 140 crore Indians by a government they elected based on innumerable promises. After seven years time has come to do stock-taking. Time has come to ask why the country is suffering," he said.</p> <p>On the issue of farmers&rsquo; protest, the Congress spokesperson accused that the Modi government of playing with livelihoods of farmers to help their &ldquo;capitalist friends&rdquo; with the three agrarian laws.</p> <p>He also criticised the government over demonetisation, implementation of GST, and handling of Maoist insurgency.</p> <p><strong>PM Modi's Address</strong></p> <p>During "Mann Ki Baat", among other topics,&nbsp; PM Modi also spoke on the BJP government 's 7th anniversary and said that the saffron party has been working dedicatedly for the past 7 years just like Team India and will continue to follow the motto of "sabka sath, sabka vikas".</p> <p>After 7 years India has given befitting replies to conspiracies from other nations boosting the courage and confidence of the countrymen, he said.</p> <p>PM Modi emphasised that in the 7 years of BJP's term northeast has experienced peace in its state which was otherwise facing multiple conflicts.</p>
