India Reports Less Than 2 Lakh Covid Cases For 2nd Consecutive Day, 3460 Fatalities

<p><strong>Covid In India:</strong> The country has been witnessing a downward trend in daily Coronavirus cases and India has registered less than 2 lakh cases for the 2nd consecutive. However, the number of daily fatalities is still worrisome.</p> <p><span class="css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0">India reports 1,65,553 new </span><span class="r-18u37iz">COVID 19</span><span class="css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0"> cases, 2,76,309 discharges &amp; 3,460 deaths in last 24 hrs, as per Health Ministry.</span></p> <p><span class="css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0"> Total cases: 2,78,94,800 </span></p> <p><span class="css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0">Total discharges: 2,54,54,320</span></p> <p><span class="css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0"> Death toll: 3,25,972 </span></p> <p><span class="css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0">Active cases: 21,14,508</span></p> <p><span class="css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0"> Total vaccination: 21,20,66,614</span></p> <p>The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said that a total of 34,31,83,748 samples tested up to May 29. Of which, 20,63,839 samples were tested yesterday.</p> <p>The positivity rate has been less than 10 per cent for the last five days.&nbsp;</p> <p>States have now decided to begin the unlock process in phased manner, lifting fee curbs in the first phase.</p> <p>Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has said his government will start unlocking the city gradually from Monday. The national capital has been under a lockdown since April 19 as it saw an unprecedented surge in Covid cases and health infrastructure buckled under the pressure of an increase in the number of patients.</p> <p>Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has said his government will extend the lockdown-like restrictions after June 1, and ease the curbs in a phased manner. The state has the country's highest caseload but Mumbai, among other cities, has now been witnessing a drop in positivity rate.</p>
