<div dir="auto"> <div dir="auto">The Mizoram government has issued an advisory for the people of the state to avoid all non-essential travel to New Delhi until the COVID-19 pandemic situation improves.</div> <div dir="auto">&nbsp;</div> <div dir="auto">Chief Secretary of Mizoram J.C. Ramthanga has stated in the circular that it is a precautionary measure in lieu of the rising Covid numbers in the capital in particular and the nation in general.</div> <div dir="auto">&nbsp;</div> <div dir="auto">The circular further states that as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of the general public of Mizoram as well as the staff and family members of the Mizoram House, New Delhi, &ldquo;no new guests will be accepted in the Mizoram houses, New Delhi, i.e. Vasant Vihar and Chankyapuri.&rdquo;&nbsp;</div> <div dir="auto">&nbsp;</div> <div dir="auto">It also says that certain exceptions, however, will be made for medical emergencies and other factors decided by the Mizoram House authorities, which will be later notified.</div> <div dir="auto">&nbsp;</div> <div dir="auto">Seven people were discharged from the Zoram Medical College (ZMC) and Covid-19 Care Centres after they were cured. The Covid-19 recovery rate in the state is 89.99 percent and the infection rate is 1.82 percent and at least 12 people have succumbed to the infection so far.</div> <div dir="auto">&nbsp;</div> <div dir="auto">Commencing from Tuesday, the state government have imposed a lockdown-like restriction in all the district headquarters, including state capital Aizawl with guidelines to break the chain of rising COVID-19 transmission and facilitate COVID-19 testing and contact tracing as the state combats with the second wave of COVID-19. This restriction will come into effect by 4 am on April 26.</div> <div dir="auto">&nbsp;</div> <div dir="auto">Though the guidelines issued the midnight of Monday did not use the word &ldquo;lockdown,&rdquo; it said that no residents in Aizawl municipal area and other district headquarters barring those exempted should step out of their homes without permission during the restriction period.</div> <div dir="auto">&nbsp;</div> <div dir="auto">The Mizoram government has quite efficiently started combating the pandemic virus and their guidelines are meant to ensure the COVID-19 from spreading further.</div> </div> <div dir="auto">&nbsp;</div> <div dir="auto">&nbsp;</div>
