Govt Mulling Over 12-Hour Night Curfew Amid Rising Covid Cases</a></span><br /></strong></p> <p>The 4 people who face BMC action had recently returned from Dubai on February 10 and they are accused of returning home without completing their seven-day quarantine period.</p> <p>After they landed in Mumbai, BMC had accommodated them in a hotel in Andheri as they had to remain in a seven-day institutional quarantine according to the rules. When doctors arrived in the hotel to do the required checkups on the second day, the 4 passengers were found missing.</p> <p>They have been identified as Sushil Sabnees, Jubeir Ghalte, Nikita Chander, and Swapan Chandradas.</p> <p>Mumbai Police in a statement informed, "We have registered a case on BMC's complaint and booked four Dubai returnees under sections 188, 269 and 270 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code".</p> <p>Earlier, BMC had sealed as many as 1,305 buildings because of new Covid-19 cases. "The Mumbai civic body sealed 1,305 buildings with 71,838 households after 2,749 cases were registered in the city," the BMC was quoted as saying.</p> <p>The Mumbai civic body has been in action mode ever since a spike in fresh Covid cases was spotted. Recently, Mumbai mayor Kishori Pednekar had also stated that a lockdown may be imposed in the capital city seeing the situation.</p> <p> Maharashtra relief and rehabilitation minister Vijay Wadettiwar has also talked about the possibility of the state government imposing a 12-hour night curfew, “between 5 pm and 5 am”, in areas with serious Coronavirus transmission.</p> <p>A meeting will be held with Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray in the coming week to finalise the decision.</p>
