<p>West Bengal is already facing a political tussle between the PM Modi government and Mamata Banerjee, each slamming the other and announcing plans to bring development to the state. While the Centre and the Mamata government will remain at loggerheads till the end of West Bengal assembly polls, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced a huge budget for the up-gradation of the state.</p> <p><a title="Also Read|Budget 2021: FM Announces Voluntary Scrapping Policy; 20-Yr-Old Private Vehicles To Undergo Fitness Test" href="https://ift.tt/36xHI26 style="color: #e03e2d;"><strong>Also Read|Budget 2021: FM Announces Voluntary Scrapping Policy; 20-Yr-Old Private Vehicles To Undergo Fitness Test</strong></span></a></p> <p>In the Union Budget 2021, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has allocated a budget of Rs 25,000 crores for roads in West Bengal and for up-gradation of the existing Kolkata-Siliguri road.&nbsp;</p> <p>Announcing the budget allocated for road infrastructure, FM Sithraman outlay Rs 1.18 Lakh Crore For the Ministry Of Road Transport And Highways<br /><br />Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman also made other announcements related to the development of road infrastructure which included more economic corridors for uplifting the country's economy. Finance Minister also announced plans to invest Rs 1.03 lakh crore for 3,500 km of national highway works in Tamil Nadu. The construction work of the project will start next year.</p> <p>To further augment road infra Nirmala Sithraman announced of investment of Rs 65,000 crore for 1,100 km of national highway works in Kerala.&nbsp; including a 600 km stretch of the Mumbai-Kanyakumari corridor.&nbsp;</p> <p>Finance Minister also announced national highway work of more than Rs 34000 crore covering 300 kms in the fiscal year 2021-2022</p>
